The LEDES file 2000 format was actually introduced in 1999 and was the first XML based LEDES format.
LEDES 2000 is also commonly known as LEDES 2K and did not modify the LEDES 1998B format, rather tried taking LEDES to the next level by making it “a ubiquitous, available, and serviceable data formatting standard for legal e-billing.” Currently LEDES 1998B is a more popular format due to the familiarity and pervious adoption.
